The Waterlees ward is offering a summer series of free activities for families throughout August.
The series kicked off on Wednesday with a play day event on the Spinney Adventure Playground.
The next event is a family fun day at the Oasis Community Centre in Waterless on Wednesday August 9 from 10am to 1pm.
“There will be lots of activities, which will appeal to everyone, whatever your age,” say organisers.
Then, the same time and day a week later, there will be a mini Olympics at Lime Avenue, off Edinburgh Drive.
“This will have lots of games to get rid of some of your energy,” say organisers.
Community House is holding a garden party on August 23 from 10am to 1pm in their secret garden behind the house on Southwell Road. “There will be lots of garden games to have a go at,” organisers.
“These events have been organised and supported by all the agencies who work on the ward including Fenland District Council, Cambridgeshire County Council, Wisbech Community Development Trust, People and Animals and Clarion Housing, as well as a host of local volunteers.
“People and Animals will be attending all these events, except the Mini Olympics, but come along and learn more about what they do. “They are also attending a book worm event on Wednesday August 30, at the Oasis/ Orchard School communal garden. Entry costs £2 per family.
“So please pop along to these events and make it worth all the hard work that has been put into making these as enjoyable as possible, because if they are a success, we can persuade funders to make these annual events, but we need public support to enable this to happen.
“We are also looking for volunteer gardeners and litter pickers, these will be working in several locations on the ward and therefore if you are interested in joining, please call either Jenna or Chris on 01945 461526 or Ian at Community House on 01945 580309.”
