Last year’s Fenland Poet Laureate just missed out on winning a prestigious national poetry competition.
Poppy Kleiser, of Wisbech, was one of four poets to receive commendations for their work following the Poetry Rivals finalists slam at the John Clare Theatre in Peterborough.
On the day, 67 finalists performed in front of a live audience and a guest panel of judges made up of Ben Mellor, Mixy, Fay Roberts and host Mark Grist.
The winner of the competition, Jim Clarkson, of Crewe, won a £2,000 publishing deal.
