Pupils from Tilney All Saints Primary School discovered how their food gets from farms to their fork on a trip to their local branch of Tesco.

The youngsters took a trip to the King’s Lynn store, where they were shown how locally sourced food gets from farms to their dining tables.

During the morning, all the children, aged between four and seven, got involved in a number of food-based activities, including bread making, looking at what keeps fish fresh and a picking out healthy options at the food and vegetable section of the store.

Class teach, Sarah Douglass, said the children enjoyed the trip. She said: “The experience was very hands-on and practical for the children, who learnt a huge amount.”

Six-year-old Molly Evans and Thomas Arthur, 7, agreed, saying: “We enjoyed making the bread – and eating it afterwards!”
