CHARLOTTE Norris has lost two stone by following a Slimming World diet, and she believes it has helped transform the behaviour of her four-year-old son.

The home-cooked meals with fresh produce have had a remarkable effect on Charlie who has been diagnosed as having Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

The Wisbech mum has been so impressed with the improvement in her family's health she has set up her own Slimming World group in Ramsey. She says by ditching the junk food Charlie has gained weight, is much calmer and is able to concentrate more.

Charlotte and husband James, along with Charlie and 18-month-old Lloyd, are all sticking to the healthy diet and taking a great interest in preparing the meals.

Mrs Norris went along to a Slimming World class in Wisbech after gaining weight during her two pregnancies. She said: "I had a craving for McDonalds when I was pregnant and the weight was not shifting. I started classes at the end of October last year and achieved my target in May."

She said following the diet is really easy with 'red' and 'green' days. On some days the family is allowed unlimited pasta and rice, on others, lean meats, fish and poultry.

Mrs Norris said: "You don't even feel as if you are on a diet. It is family food with no separate meals. My husband loves trying new recipes and does all the cooking."

But the couple have also noticed an improvement in the behaviour of their son Charlie. Mrs Norris said: "Before he wouldn't eat his dinners and he was a very picky eater. I just thought he was a normal crazy three-year-old but a health visitor picked up on his behaviour. Now he seems to be calmer and can concentrate more.
