Students were rewarded for their hard work at the Marshland High School annual prize giving ceremony.

Head teacher Elizabeth Dormor spoke about the school’s many achievements over the past year and how delighted she was to see the students rewarded for all their efforts with such good GCSE results.

She also reminded them to continue to aim high and never settle for second best.

During the ceremony students were reminded about the importance of adapting their skills to an ever-changing world of work.

Many students won special prizes for particularly impressive achievements, including Rhian Quenby who was presented with the Mayor of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk’s Award for Achievement, Lissi Campbell who was presented with the Marshland High School Chair of Governors’ Award for Achievement and Rimmer Peake who was presented with the Marshland High School Award for Inspirational Achievement.

Honoured guests included the Mayor of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, councillor Colin Manning and the Mayoress of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Julie Manning.

Also in attendance were the Mayor of Wisbech, councillor David Hodgson and the Mayoress of Wisbech Judy Hodgson and the guest speaker, Paul Mitchell, an educational adviser and consultant who has worked with the school for several years.
