WISBECH Market Place is once again filled with stunning blooms, after half a dozen large planters made a welcome return.
Last week a row broke out, after the town council was forced to pay 675 to Fenland District Council, to get the floral displays reinstated.
Wisbech Town Council believes it bought the planters as part of a job lot when it purchased the town council last summer - but the district council has also laid claim to the containers. The returning planters are just some of the floral displays provided by the district council around the town centre.
This week town council clerk Erbie Murat said: “Everyone is absolutely delighted to have the planters back, they have a major impact on our Wisbech in Bloom entry.
“There are loads of volunteers beavering away, making sure they are all watered, effectively we are back in business. We are still in discussion with Fenland District Council about ownership of the planters, and some kind of reimbursement of the 675.”
