FIVE people were treated for the affects of smoke inhalation after a fire in a block of flats in Wisbech.
Firefighters were called to Wellington Terrace at 9.20pm yesterday (Thursday) and found a fire started in a stairwell. The stairwell had become smoke logged.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus led four people out of the block and used one jet and one hose reel to extinguish the fire. Crews then ventilated the affected area.
A fire service spokeswoman said: "The cause of the fire is being investigated.
