A 92-year-old woman was given a card, cakes and a warning about the dangers of an overgrown garden by firefighters after they visited her Wisbech home.
Members of the Wisbech fire crew visited Pearl Youngman after an incident in her garden and spoke with her about the hazards that an overgrown garden can bring.
The firefighters decided to visit her for a second time after hearing it was to be her 92nd birthday, and brought her a card and cake.
A Cambridgeshire fire and rescue service spokesman said: “We’re pleased to say that as Pearl is unable to do so herself, the council will be clearing her garden out for her, making it much safer.”
