IT is a place for young people to find out about ongoing projects and future events, but also the place to leave their opinions on the area they live.

This, and more, can all be done from a new website which has been created by Fenland Youth District Council.

'The Youth Room' was launched on Tuesday at Fenland Hall, in March, and was attended by senior council officials and councillors including chief executive Tim Pilsbury, council leader Geoff Harper and Councillor Steve Garratt, portfolio holder for young people.

All 15 members of the youth council, from the five secondary schools in Fenland, also attended.

Youth council chairman Lewis Punter, vice-chairman Olivia Elsey and youth councillor Oliver Cooper-Clark gave a presentation about the website.

The website is home to details about youth projects in the district, as well as information about future events, sporting and leisure activities.

There is also a message blog for young people to post their views about Fenland and what they want to do about it, a blog zone and a section for youngsters to ask questions in confidence.
