TODDLERS at a Fenland pre-school donned their wellies last week to raise money for their school by holding a sponsored welly waddle.

Staff and children at Terrington St John Pre-School took to the school’s playing field on Friday for a few fun-filled laps. It was hoped that roughly 100 could be raised by the event to buy equipment such as a covered sandpit and playhouse to entertain the school’s energetic youngsters.

Children at the School Road pre-school were sponsored 50p or 1 to complete the waddle after the school’s committee - chaired by Carolyn Howard - came up with the fundraising idea.

Each child received stickers after completing as many laps as they wanted. Many were joined in donning wellies by their parents.
