A MAN who died in a five-vehicle pile up close to a notorious Fenland road has been identified by police as a man from Whittlesey.

Keith Minett, aged 60, of Drybread Road, was the driver of a white Vauxhall Corsa which was involved in a collision along the B1040 between Whittlesey and Thorney, close to its junction with North Bank.

The collision, which happened at 5.35pm yesterday, also involved a cyclist and three other vehicles - a silver Audi A4, a black Audi A4 and a silver Ford Focus.

The driver of the black Audi, a 49-year-old man from Market Deeping, and a passenger, a 22-year-old man from March, suffered minor injuries and were taken to Peterborough District Hospital. No-one else was injured.

This morning Pc Steve Edwards, investigating the crash, said: "I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision and witnessed this incident."
