TODAY we launch a search to find the top musical talent in Fenland.
In conjunction with the March Summer Festival Committee, we are looking to find a winner to be acclaimed 2010 Fenland Has (Musical) Talent Winner.
At stake are a prestigious trophy, £100 cash, and the chance to perform live in front of a big audience at the final night of this year's summer festival in West End Park, March.
Dennis Hicks of March is organising the competition in association with the festival committee and has put together a panel of judges to select the top act that will appear in the final on Sunday June 13.
But before we get to the finals, there's the little matter of auditions and a special Fenland Has (Musical) Talent night at the Braza Club which will help find the winner.
Preliminary heats take place on Sunday May 9 from 10am-4pm at Young People March in City Road.
Those selected for the Braza will then be invited to take part in a special performance at the club on Sunday June 4 in front of a live audience from 7.30pm.
Judges lined up are Alan Norris (of the Alan Norris Big Band), Darren O'Sullivan, a music and dance promoter, Lisa Dickinson of Dance Mania and Paul Hicks of 'Monkey's Uncle'.
Patsy Brewin has donated a trophy in memory of her late husband, George, and businessman John Whitehead has put up the £100 prize.
Entry costs just £1 and will be collected at the auditions. Once you've entered we'll contact you to let you know the best time to attend.
All we want at this stage is your name, a very brief outline of your act, and a contact number.
