Clubs dealt a cruel blow by the inclement weather need not despair ... they can transfer their games to a school’s Astroturf pitch.
Thomas Clarkson Academy’s 3G Astroturf has passed an FA inspection to allow football matches to be played on the pitch.
Now the facility is on the FA 3G Pitch Register, clubs who have matches postponed due to the weather can switch their fixture to Thomas Clarkson Academy’s facilities and get their match played.
Stephen Walker, sports lettings manager at Thomas Clarkson Academy, said: “Under new FA rules in line with UEFA, all 3G pitches have to be inspected and passed to allow FA regulated matches to be played on artificial surfaces, and whilst we have lots of teams training at our facility, we weren’t able to hold matches for a short period of time.
“We have now passed this inspection and I am delighted that we can now allow all forms of matches to be played at our facility.”
The pitch also has floodlights in the event of late kick-off of midweek matches and changing facilities for teams to use.
