A POST-mortem is expected to be carried out later today on a body which was found in hedges close to the A47 between Guyhirn and Wisbech yesterday.
Police were called at 3.15pm yesterday by a passing motorist who had stopped in a lay-by to answer the call of nature.
Officers, along with a pathologist, carried out investigations during Wednesday afternoon and evening. The post-mortem, to establish the cause of death, is expected to be completed later today.
A police spokesman said: “At the moment officers remain open-minded as to the circumstances. It is not known how long the body has been in situ.”
