STRIKING big wigs provided the ultimate hair-raising attraction for staff at a Fenland business, when they launched their quest to raise thousands of pounds for Sue Ryder Care.

The Fenmarc Produce team is out to prove they are a cut above the rest, with a number of charity events planned throughout the summer as staff answer the Big Wigs Challenge.

Kristi Glowacki, people/training administrator at the March-based business, said: "We are organising various events to take place over the next two months, to help us raise as much money as possible."

A football tournament against other produce companies, quiz nights, a Wii bowling competition and even an office swear jar are all in the pipeline.

Fundraising started on Friday with a cake bake which raised £69.20, but tomorrow (Saturday) five colleagues and a friend will be in Huntingdon to take part in Sue Ryder's latest 10k midnight walk.

The Big Wigs Challenge sees fundraisers given £50 by the Norwich and Peterborough Building Society, to use their entrepreneur skills to make it grow.

Money raised will be donated to the charity's Thorpe Hall Hospice at Peterborough.
