MEMBERS of Fenland Family History Society and their visitors enjoyed a meeting with a difference. On display were old Fenland crafts and skills used by their forefathers. Those attending were able to enjoy watching and having a try themselves at the many skills on display, including spinning, weaving and woven tapestry. Women from the Lavender Lace Makers were on hand to guide members through the maze of bobbins during lace making. Members of the Walpole St Peter's Art and Craft Club demonstrated patchwork and quilting, crochet, tapestry, watercolour painting and decoupage. Other crafts of egg decorating and card making were also being displayed. Also on display was an exhibition of lighting through the ages and a display and quiz arranged by the Fenland and Wisbech Museum. There were also samples of food made from Fenland recipes. The event was sponsored by, the Fens Food and Flower Festival.
