FROM arts and crafts to car boots and games of horseshoes - just some of the fun of a family fun day and country fair in the Fens.

The weather remained good throughout the day and more than 200 people enjoyed many of the activities at the fair, in Marshland St James.

Sunday's fair, held on a field owned by Councillor Steve Woolner, a member of the Parish Council, raised about £400 for the Fenland Landscapes Against Turbines (FLAT) fund.

About 20 car boot stalls were set up, apple bobbing and a coconut shy and apple bobbing were two more games for visitors to enjoy, and a cake stall proved so popular that all the cakes were sold early in the day.

- Villagers are invited to vote at a parish poll next Thursday on the controversial plans for a wind farm near the village.

The poll will ask if residents want turbines within or surrounding the village, and was demanded by residents at last month's parish meeting.

The Jubilee Hall will be open from 4-9pm for residents to register their votes.
