Man arrested on suspicion of making explosive substances in March

A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of making explosive substances in an overnight sting in March.

Police moved in to arrest the man in the early hours of today (Monday 9).

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said: “Emergency services were called to a suspicious incident in Badgeney Road, March at about 12.30am (October 9).

“The road was closed in both directions as a precaution and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal were called to the scene.

“A man in his 40s from March has been arrested on suspicion of making explosive substances under suspicious circumstances.”

A team of incident response units, fire engine, ambulance crew and police set up a rendezvous point from the car park of Cornerstone GP surgery, in Elwyn Road from about 6pm on Sunday evening (8) until the early hours of today.
