The sweets struck a manger in the face – but a plastic bottle thrown by the same unhappy former employee missed his target, a court heard.
And when staff hit the panic button and police were called the former Betfred worker became aggressive and resisted arrest.
Before Cambridge Crown Court on Friday was Matthew Hiblin, 42, of Falcon Road, Wisbech, who admitted assault by beating and obstructing a police officer in their duty.
Hiblin was sentenced to a two year community order and a 40 day rehabilitation activity requirement
Police said Hiblin was a “disgruntled former employee” when he entered the High Street store on February 7.
He then became aggressive and threw sweets at his former colleague, a man in his 40s, striking him in the face.
The rehabilitation activity requirement includes a combination of appointments and activities, designed to support and monitor the offender’s progress through their order and support their rehabilitation.
