MORE than 1,000 people attended a Bands in the Park concert at Tydd St Mary playing field on Saturday.

Groups, including The Cortinas, entertained the crowds and it was an opportunity for many of them to play before a large audience for the first time.

Also on offer were ice cream, hotdogs, burgers and a beer marquee. Entertainment for children included bumper cars and horse and pony rides.

The concert was organised by the playing field committee, representing Tydd St Mary and Tydd Gote, which is raising money for a new pavilion and children's play equipment.
