"The true beauty of it all is that so many volunteers and dedicated people get involved every year, and to see everybody together celebrating the fantastic success of Wisbech at all levels was truly inspiring.

Wisbech Town Council supported Wisbech in Bloom in their nominations and they were named Anglia in Bloom champions in 2009 and now Britain in Bloom's most excellent small town.

Wisbech Town Council put �600 towards the watering of the blooms, which is a major task each year, and a further �1,000 for new planters on both sides of Freedom bridge, and new chains on the hanging baskets.
The Town Council also sponsor the allotments competitions each year, and are pleased to enter into the spirit by planting its own window boxes and entering the town competition.
This year as a small but significant part of the celebrations Susanah Farmer, the deputy Clerk for Wisbech beamed as she collected the trophy for Best Office Front sponsored by the Chamber of Trade.
After the awards everyone adjourned to the bar to have a celebratory drink provided free by Elgood's and a sandwich or two supplied by the Town Council.
