A business has been recognised for its efforts to improve health and safety for the eleventh straight year.

Luminus, which is responsible for The Ferry Project homeless shelter in Wisbech, won the Gold award at this year’s Occupational Health and Safety Awards. In total, 21 Cambridgeshire organisations received recognition.

Through the scheme, which is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, judges consider entrants’ health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager, said: “We would like to congratulate all our RoSPA award winners on their success. They have shown commitment to improving health and safety and we hope that their achievement will encourage other organisations to strive to meet the same standards.”
