A CAR burst into flames after colliding with an electricity pole in Leverington on Tuesday morning.
Two fire crews from Wisbech and a rescue vehicle from Dogsthorpe in Peterborough was called to the accident in Parson Drove Lane at 9.25am.
A fire service spokeswoman said: "Crews had to wait for the arrival of Eastern Electricity before they put out the fire as electricity was arcing over the vehicle, making it dangerous for crews to attempt to extinguish."
Once Eastern Electricity arrived, fire-fighters were able to extinguish the fire using one hose reel. They returned to base by 11.30am
The driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the vehicle before the arrival of the fire service.
