A van was pulled over by police in Wisbech and found to be well overweight.
Beds, Cambs & Herts Roads Policing Unit officers found the van was 76 per cent over the allowed weight on the rear axle, and 48 per cent over the total weight limit.
The driver and company have been reported.
The image of the overweight van provoked consternation on Twitter.
One poster tweeted: “Even without scales, you must know if you’re over by that much.”
Another tweeted: “Shocking, surprised it was drivable.”
