THE owner of two dogs that killed 30 chickens in Wisbech St Mary may have to pay £500 in compensation.
At a court hearing on Tuesday, 41-year-old Andrew Johnson, of Rummers Lane, Wisbech St Mary, admitted that his dogs Pooch and Bruno worried livestock on agricultural land at The Cold Store, Rummers Lane, on March 25.
"The dogs were running around the orchard area, chasing and attacking chickens," said prosecutor Laura Mardell.
Fenland magistrates adjourned sentencing until November 13, for the compensation claim to be discussed.
