A disabled parking bay will be installed on Magazine Close in Wisbech despite objections from neighbours.

Objectors said the disabled space would “change our narrow through road into a chicane” and that “any more disabled parking places would hamper emergency services should they require access to Magazine Close”.

Cambridgeshire County Council’s Highways and Community Infrastructure Committee said the emergency services had been consulted and had no issues.

The report said: “The council has a responsibility to residents who are disabled to provide them with places to park their vehicles on the public highway where possible.”
