A DEALER who tried to travel through Norfolk with a stash of drugs under his car bonnet has been jailed.
Jason Brown was pulled over and searched by police on the A47 at Terrington St Clement on the evening of April 12.
Officers discovered a 2kg package of white powder under the bonnet of his vehicle which tests later proved was amphetamine, also known as ‘speed’. A subsequent police search of his home discovered further evidence of drug dealing.
Brown, 48, of Walnut Way, Dereham, was jailed for two years by Judge Philip Curl when he appeared at Norwich Crown Court on Tuesday. He had pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to possessing amphetamine with intent to supply and a seperate charge of possessing cannabis.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police patrols are carried out on Norfolk’s roads day and night to respond to calls and target suspected criminals. This was a significant amount of drugs which was prevented from hitting Norfolk’s streets.”
