A CYCLIST was punched in the face in an unprovoked attack as two men stepped in front of him at a Wisbech junction on Tuesday.
The 58-year-old was travelling along Cromwell Road around 5.30am when the two men, believed to be white, aged 18-20, wearing grey tracksuits and both about five foot eight, assaulted the cyclist at the Weasenham Lane turning.
After the attack, during which the cyclist’s glasses and hat fell off due to the punch to the face, the men, one with a chubby face wearing glasses and the other with a thin face, ran off.
PC Lee Callow said: “This appears to have been an unprovoked attack. I am keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or has any information about this incident.”
