A VICTORIAN former lock-keeper's cottage at Outwell was sold for £200,000 at a public auction.

It is believed Aqueduct Cottage is one of only two in the country to stand on a crossing of two main watercourses; the Well Creek River and the main drainage channel.

"The pre-auction marketing generated a high level of inquiries with plenty of interest coming from London," says auctioneer Jim Major of Brown & Co.

"After brisk bidding, the cottage sold for £200,000 . It goes to show that public auctions can deliver good results for clients looking to sell properties that are a little out of the ordinary.
