A Fenland college will play a pivotal role in the formation of a motorsports team.
The College of West Anglia will provide volunteer student mechanics, engineers, truck, awning, kart and race equipment for Team Blair Racing.
Team Blair Racing will begin competing in karting championships next season and plans to enter single seater championships in 2016.
It plans to recruit and develop a stable of 55 young drivers from across the UK to produce large competitive grids of drivers aiming for the British Touring Cars Championships, GP2, Formula One and Formula E.
Chris Middleton, of the College of West Anglia, said: “This announcement gives the College of West Anglia the opportunity to become part of a ground-breaking motorsport project and one which could shape the future of the sport.”
