Uniformed services students from the College of West Anglia Wisbech campus got a glimpse of life on the beat during a visit to March Police Station.
Police sergeant Caroline Scully of Cambridgeshire Police hosted the level two students, considering a career in the police force, for a morning visit to the station.
Students met the on-duty custody police sergeant who explained the intricacies of placing someone into police cells and learnt the process of questioning and locking-up.
The group also experienced sitting in various types of fast response vehicles and even tried on police equipment such as riot control gear.
The experience was designed to give students a glimpse of life beyond their college course.
