College of West Anglia principal visits Wisbech campus for a morning to remember

Remembrance Day activities were on the agenda when College of West Anglia principal David Pomfret spent a morning with staff and students at the Wisbech campus.
Students learnt about what Remembrance Day is and why it is celebrated. They also completed several arts and craft activities, including making a poppy wreath, completing some quizzes and word searches, and taking part in activities centred around poppies.
Mr Pomfret joined 19 foundation studies students in a variety of activities, led by foundation studies lecturer, Sarah Middup, alongside several learning support officers.
He said: “I really enjoyed working side by side with our staff and students. I have been really inspired by the focus and concentration of our students, despite the diverse capabilities in the group, everybody has demonstrated the progress that they are making.”
One student, Leon, said: “The best thing about coming to college is seeing my friends and my teacher. I like doing art a lot, especially painting.”
In previous years, to mark apprenticeship week, the principal has spent time working alongside some of CWA’s apprentices.
