A CELEBRATION in Wisbech dedicated to the finest British apples would not be the same without a search to find the town’s heaviest cooking apple.
Clifford Paul’s apple weighed in at a hefty 798g and to mark his achievement Mr Paul was presented with his prize of a apple-themed hamper from the Horsefair Shopping Centre’s Holland and Barratt store.
Runner-up was Jim Negus with an apple weighing 765g.
