Since Christian Aid Week began 60 years ago, volunteers from churches have collected house-to-house. Together they delivered more than seven million envelopes last year, each one sending a message about Jesus’ love and justice.

This week a small but dedicated team of volunteers have set out in Wisbech to begin the annual collection.

David Davies who is the Catholic representative on Wisbech Churches Together and who started his collecting in Watford prior to moving to the Fens said that people can make a tremendous difference to the lives of their less fortunate fellow men.

He hoped that the people of Wisbech would continue to be generous in their giving.

Christian Aid is hoping many will increase by 25 per cent their gift using the Gift Aid scheme - it doesn’t cost them an extra penny.
