SADISTIC Wisbech youths on a night out in Peterborough were caught on CCTV beating up and leaving unconscious a 19 year-old plumber.

The unprovoked attack has led to three of those involved being jailed after a judge at Peterborough Crown Court described their "mindless violence as completely unacceptable".

Judge Nicholas Coleman said that nobody who had seen the CCTV footage could fail to be shocked at what they saw.

Aaron Wright, 21, of Cherry Road, who boasts on a social networking site of being a boozer, a brawler and a "total psycho", was ringleader of the gang which beat the young man senseless outside the Liquid nightclub.

Wright was jailed for 10 months, whilst Daniel Melton, 23, from Blackpool was jailed for seven months and his brother, Anthony, 21, of Victoria Place, Wisbech, received a 12 months term. Anthony Melton was ordered to serve the sentence consecutively to a three month term as part of a suspended sentence handed out previously.

Others in the dock included Shaun Simpson, 19, of Clarkson Avenue, Wisbech, who was given a six month suspended prison sentence, ordered to pay 250 costs and undertake 280 hours of community service.

A fifth defendant, Aaron Reid, 20, also of Wisbech, who had not been drinking, was jailed for six months after the judge accepted he had played a lesser role in the affray.

The teenager who was assaulted described his assailants as being "like a pack of wolves."

He said: "I thought it would never stop." He was subject to at least 35 blows in the two minute horrific attack.

The young plumber was not called to give evidence after all five defendants pleaded guilty to affray.
