DRUNKEN thief Kathryn Dixon was dancing in the aisles of the Wisbech Somerfield store before she was caught stealing a £16 cardigan on Sunday.
"I was very drunk, I don't normally steal," she told Fenland magistrates on Wednesday, after admitting the theft.
She had put the cardigan on and tried to leave the store with it, said prosecutor Andrew Williams. She told police: "It was cold, it was like an arctic frost."
Giving Dixon a 12-month conditional discharge and ordering her to pay £55 costs, presiding magistrate
Alan Jones told her: "Being drunk is not an excuse, but it is a background reason.
