A local branch of John Deere is celebrating its 83rd anniversary by expanding its turf business into East Anglia next year.
Burgess & Co Ltd will be selling and supporting the full John Deere turf machinery range from its existing agricultural outlet at Coates, near Peterborough, from January 6th.
As a result, Peterborough Grass Machinery Ltd at Westwood will be operating only as a John Deere homeowner equipment dealer.
The expansion coincides with the outlet’s 83rd anniversary this year as a dealer of agricultural, horticultural and construction machinery.
It has been established in the turf machinery business since 1962, and has held the John Deere turf franchise since 1986, although it has been a John Deere agricultural equipment dealer for 50 years.
“Having already established a successful golf and turf business in our existing area of responsibility, we plan to introduce a hire service and a wider range of parts to this new sales area, as well as the increased level of specialist sales and service support that the professional turf market requires,” added Ben Burgess managing director, Ben Turner.
