RECRUITMENT business Driver Hire has returned to its roots in Wisbech - in the same offices it occupied 10 years ago.

Owner and manager is Sue Crilly, who started her Driver Hire career at Wisbech before moving, along with the rest of the team to Peterborough.

"It was always my ambition to own the business," said Sue. "When my bosses, Roger and Sue Lancaster decided to sell last year they gave me and a colleague first refusal.

"Needless to say we were both very interested and decided to split it into two. As I live in Wisbech I opted to buy the Wisbech, Spalding, Kings Lynn and March postcode areas and will trade under the name, Driver Hire Fenland."

Driver Hire is a franchise business with a network of more than 100 offices, each one individually owned and managed.

The business has now settled into its previous home above the NatWest Bank in the Market Place. "I couldn't believe it when I saw that our old offices were available," Sue added. "It feels just like we're coming home. A lot of drivers who worked for us 13 years ago have joined us already and many local customers are pleased that Driver Hire has a local office once again.
