A BOY saved all his Christmas money to buy a BMX bicycle, only to have it stolen from outside a Wisbech shop after using it a handful of times.

Tyler Akred's bike was stolen from outside the Londis store in Tinkers Drove shortly after 8pm last Tuesday, when he and his brother Jordan went to buy some sweets.

The Big Momma BMX was taken by a man who, moments earlier, asked if he could borrow the bright pink bike.

When 10-year-old Tyler and Jordan refused and went into the store, the man took the bike and cycled off towards Walsoken.

Tyler's mum Anna has put up a 30 reward and launched appeals on social networking site Facebook in the hope of getting the bike back.

She said: "Tyler is devastated. He spent 180 on this bike and saved all his Christmas money to buy it on eBay.

"He got it in January and has only used it four or five times."

The man was seen hanging around outside the store before he stole the bike and was caught on CCTV.

Mrs Akred, of Grosvenor Road, Wisbech, said: "There are only two bikes like this in the town as far as we know.

"Tyler's does not have front stunt pegs like the other one. It also has five-spoke magnesium alloy wheels and a pink and purple lock wrapped around the handlebar."

The boys described the man as white, bald, aged about 30 and of medium build. He was wearing a hooded top.

Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
