POLICE have launched an investigation after a badly burned body was found by the side of a road in Cambridgeshire.

POLICE have launched an investigation after a "badly burned" body was found by the side of a road in Cambridgeshire.

The A1301 has been closed both ways between the A505 junction and the M11 junction in Hinxton, near Duxford, following the discovery by a lorry driver at 3.30am today.

The body, which was found about half a mile from the A11, has not been identified yet. A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Police said the corpse was so badly burned that they have not yet been able to determine if it is a male or female.

Police officers are at the scene conducting enquiries.
