Former chairman Michael Swann returned after a break and he and Gregory Heath, who is associated with the British Legion, were presented with their tie, badge and rule book.

Thirty two members also heard that the club’s Chairman at Home Luncheon will be held at the West End Restaurant on May 21.

Last year’s chairman, Michael Bates, announced he had raised £2,308 for Alzheimer’s Society before the night was brought to a close by guest speaker Jackie McPherson, head mistress of the Meadowgate School.

The club’s next meeting is on March 8, where the speaker will be Brian Hall of the Steam Locomotive Trust.
