MORE than 300 was raised for squadron funds when cadets and staff from 272 (Wisbech) Squadron Air Cadets held a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee themed bingo event at Emneth Central Hall.
The cadets greeted members of the public at the door when they arrived, assisted committee members to sell bingo books and raffle tickets, and then checked winning numbers. Refreshments also helped sell refreshments and to draw the raffle.
Cadet Josh Garner said: “It felt good to raise over 300 for my squadron it was a good evening and everyone enjoyed it.” The money raised from the bingo will help pay for new tents, needed by the squadron members taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Wisbech squadron is currently recruiting young people aged 13-17. Anyone interested can go along to a parade night on a Monday or a Thursday at the Sandyland headquarters, email 272Sqn@BedsCambsWgATC.org, or ring 01945 587251 on parade evenings.
