FIREFIGHTERS in Wisbech have teamed up with Billy Blood Drop from the National Blood Service to help save even more lives by simply rolling up their sleeves to give blood.

With increasing numbers of road accidents across the Fens, the Fire and Rescue Service know how vital donated blood is to help save lives.

Wisbech Station Manager Harry Edge said: "We are called to a lot of collisions out on the roads around Wisbech and many of these people need a great deal of medical attention after we have rescued them. We all have our part to play in helping them back to health and blood is definitely very important.

"A lot of the lads here give and we will be working on the rest of them to give as I know how important every donation is."

Forthcoming Wisbech sessions include: Monday, February 25 Queen Mary Centre, Queen's Road 10am-12.30pm and from 2-4.30pm; Tuesday, March 11, Elme Hall Hotel 1-3.15pm and 4.30-7pm.
