Teenagers who attend a unit for people with social and behavioural difficulties have been taking part in a course at Wisbech Fire Station.

The two-day event is run by the fire service in partnership with Fenland Junction, which caters for older children no longer in mainstream education.

The aim is to educate the youngsters on the work of the fire service and give them the chance to try their hand at become fire-fighters.

Matt Murdoch, watch manager at Wisbech, said: "I think a major part of why this project seems to work is because we treat them as adults, with all the responsibility this brings.
