Pupils from the sister schools of Anthony Curton Primary and Tilney All Saints Primary took a 70-year step back in time as part of their World War Two studies.
The youngsters visited the Holt North Norfolk Railway and took on the role of evacuees as they stepped onto the Poppy Line.
They took part in an air raid warning, listening to a traditional story in an original cottage setting, made their own lunch with rations and took a look at children’s toys from the war.
Jane Murray, classroom support assistant, said: “This was a brilliant experience for our children to give them a snapshot of what it must have been like for 1940s children living through World War Two.”
