TWO men have been beaten up by a gang of youths in Wisbech.

The men, both aged 33 and from the Wisbech area, were set upon by the gang outside an internet café in Blackfriars Road.

Both suffered facial injuries and received treatment by paramedics at the scene of the attack.

Pc Kris Mueller said: "This was a nasty unprovoked attack, which we believe was racially motivated. The group consisted of about 15 young people, both boys and girls who are all described as white, not all of whom were involved in the assault.

"I would appeal to those not involved to come forward and tell police who was responsible for attacking these men. You can speak to us in confidence, or give information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

"I would also like to speak to anyone else who saw the attack or any suspicious or unusual behaviour in the Blackfriars Road area. Any information, no matter how minor, could prove vital to our investigation."
