IT has been billed as a wedding and lifestyle centre and is in the business of making dreams come true - and it's being launched in Wisbech.

The White House, in Post Office Lane, is set to open its doors to the public tomorrow and will be the first of its kind in the country - a one-stop-shop for brides.

Visitors to The White House will be able to get their entire wedding needs under-one roof, and it will provide a range of services from finding the venue, jewellery, dresses, nails and manicures, make-up artists, shoes, evening wear, menswear, hair, cakes, photography and even financial advice.

Nicola and Martin Knowles who have launched the venture are also working hand-in-hand with local businesses to provide this unique service.

The couple said the three-storey location will also offer other local wedding businesses the opportunity to showcase their skills in what is almost a permanent wedding fair.

A host of businesses are already on board including Robert Goddard and Tydd St Giles Golf and Leisure Estate.

The White House mission means that many small wedding businesses, which would normally operate from home, can now take the plunge and exhibit their work in a prominent town venue.

By drawing in the support of other local businesses, the couple have developed a place for all the bride's wedding needs.

Nicola has 25 years experience in fashion and design and wedding gowns, and also runs the successful Bridal Connections business in Wisbech.

Through Nicola's skill a bride will be able to find her ideal designed wedding dress made to measure and a bespoke design -which she will start from a sketch.

She can also offer a 'top-to-toe' service which does as it says on the package, providing the right tiara, shoes, dress, hair and make-up.

The three-storey White House is having a complete overhaul and has a variety of rooms, from a salon, live cutting room - where brides can see their dress take shape, a gallery room filled with businesses such as jewellery, photography, cakes, florist and even a chocolatier, there is even a consulting room for finance as well as a bridal showroom.

Martin, said: "We will be bringing everything under one roof, and give the bride the Gok Wan treatment.

"And we are collaborating with like-minded companies and organisations - there is so much talent available in this area and we want to build on this."

Nicola added: "We want to help brides to fulfil their dreams."

The White House will be open 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and for more information call 01945 467264.

The White House team, left Mani Jess Wilson, Nicola Knowles and Martin Knowles, in the gallery room which is being given the finishing touches before the opening day tomorrow.
