AN 87-year-old woman died in a fire at her bungalow in Wisbech, which was started by an incorrectly extinguished smoking material.
Firefighters were called to the fire in Cricketers Way, Wisbech, at 3.15pm yesterday and found the woman in the bedroom when searching inside.
Police were called to the scene and an investigation into the cause was carried out by the fire service with scenes of crimes officers.
A fire service spokeswoman said: "The cause of the fire has been confirmed as accidental and was started by an incorrectly extinguished smoking material."
