A dog was found seemingly abandoned in a too-small cage in Newton-in-the-Isle.
It was reported yesterday afternoon, and the Rural Crime Action Team took the dog into care.
Investigations into the matter are currently ongoing.
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Constabulary said: "This is unfortunately one of the sad aspects of the job, seeing animals in these conditions
"Thank you to the person who found him and reported it to us so we could attend and get him off the road and out the cage."
