Business owners across Cambridgeshire are being urged to review their fire safety measures during a month-long workplace fire prevention campaign.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service is using September to remind businesses to update their fire risk assessments and meet their duties under the Fire Safety Order.
The service has also produced short animated videos explaining common fire safety problems found during inspections.
Topics covered include checks on fire doors, emergency lighting and fire alarm systems, as well as general guidance on fire risk assessments and fire safety legislation.
Station Commander Leon Collins, from the service's Fire Protection team, said: "We know that business owners have a lot on their plates and fire safety is often not at the top of the to-do list.
"So, we want to help make it easier to access the information they need and make it more engaging than reading a guidance document, which is why we have added to our series of short animated videos."
He said the videos focus on areas that inspectors frequently identify when visiting businesses.
Mr Collins added: "We've added useful videos about some of the common things that our inspectors see when they visit companies, such as when to check fire doors, emergency lighting and fire alarm panels.
"These go with the other videos that provide a basic introduction to Fire Risk Assessment and the Fire Safety Order."
As part of the campaign, fire officers will also host a Fire Safety Presentation at Cambridge Fire Station on September 24 at 2pm.
The session, which can also be attended online, is aimed at helping business owners and managers better understand their legal responsibilities and the measures needed to keep workplaces safe.
Mr Collins said: "Attending a session will provide a better appreciation of the Fire Safety Order, the need for assessment of fire risk and the application of fire safety measures within the workplace.
"We really encourage business owners to book a place at a presentation as it provides a useful introduction to workplace fire safety, whatever level of experience you might have."
